The Cyclades book is a unique record of the daily lives, customs and beliefs of the ordinary people of the Greek islands and documents an important period in the development of modern day Greece. As such, it is a rich social history unrivalled possibly even in the world of Greek language literature.
To our knowledge, no translation has ever been made into the Greek language.
If you are proficient in both English and Greek and would like to get more closely involved the translation project, please contact us via a blog post.
Such a translation project might also lend itself to Greek schools based in the islands, supplementing both the history and English language curricula.
A work of such immense cultural and historical significance deserves to be made available to Greek readers.
